Odds and Ends

I am always the most happy when I can write. I haven't made time to do that lately but I really need to!

Here are my Odds and Ends that I should write more about...I'm hoping that I will make time soon!

1. I FINALLY saw the Atlanta Braves play at Turner Field. I have been a Braves fan my entire life and have been able to watch them play at various places - Chicago, St. Louis, Denver - but had never had the opportunity to watch them play in Atlanta. A work trip gave me the change to do this. It was an awesome game even though they lost and Chipper didn't play.

2. One of the reason's I love where I went to college....When I knew I was going to Atlanta, I messaged a gal that I went to college with. I wouldn't say we were great friends, but we were friends. I hadn't seen her in about 20 years. I let her know that I was going to a game and did she want to go. She did and we had a great time. My sister asked if it was awkward - to meet up with someone I hadn't seen in 20 years. The great news - it wasn't. It was just like I talked to her everyday. That's the beauty of where I went to college - a small college where you knew everyone and everyone (for the most part) was friendly.

3. I have struggled with my weight my most of my life. I have finally started to take my health seriously. The first two weeks I tracked my eating and exercised. I even ate pretty well on my work trip - which when you work in pizza is sometimes hard to do. I even had my husband hide the scale so I would be obsessed with weighing myself. After working my butt off, I gained a pound. It was very hard not to get depressed and go into the same pattern of giving up. I'm keeping up with it - not depriving myself of things I like (especially beer) but being smarter about it. I'm hoping that I stay on track.

4. My middle nephew is graduating in less than two weeks. I can't believe it. Where does the time go. He's going to college in the same town I live in, so I'm hopeful that we will continue to be close. He was named Prom King at prom a couple weeks ago - I'm a proud aunt!

I have more - but work calls....I feel much better now!
